Heart is Where the Home Is

In the body of work Heart is Where the Home is, I explore the idea of 'home' and our desire to feel a sense of belonging and stability in our lives. I use mixed media to investigate these themes: a large paper-cut piece, a multi media hanging-sculpture, multiple embroidery pieces and an assemblage installation. The goal of the work is to create an immersive experience which would create a facade of “home,” initiating contemplation of the viewer to think about what home means to them, and the lengths we go to find that elusive state of mind.
